How it started
Started in a little flat in Birmingham, I decided to follow my passion for helping people by using my other passions to do it; mental health, nutrition, and fitness.
Ocare came to me as the name because it encompasses everything I believe when it comes to offering support to someone struggling. Ocare stands for Optimal Care, because one size never fits all when it comes to supporting anyone feeling trapped and unable to overcome a tricky relationship with food.
Although I am definitely no chef or author, luckily, I do enjoy cooking and writing which feeds in well to my passions. So here I like to add in recipes for anyone looking for variety in maintaining a well-balanced (I don't like this word) "diet" with slightly leaner foods, and some long reads when I feel inspired. Long reads can stem from someone online or in my day to day bringing something to my attention, and from that I want to inform or advise. Occasionally some personal accounts from when I've struggled in the past with trauma related eating habits from opposite ends of the scale.
Through Instagram I also regularly document the little things I do to maintain a healthier lifestyle and mindset, and later this year I'll be officially launching a Facebook community where anyone can come for support. This community will be able to share their stories with likeminded people.
So, take a look at the journal, follow me on Instagram and Facebook, and stay tuned for updates.
